Our story begins with founder Jack Laughlin working on the so-called “returns problem” at a large e-commerce company.
Jack embarked on a hunt for a needle in a haystack — after searching far and wide, he simply could not find a long-term, scalable solution for the company’s returned goods and overstocked items.
Literally, he learned that the vast majority of this high-quality merchandise was being thrown in the trash.
Incensed at this enormous sustainability problem with no buyer and no measurable solution, Jack decided to do something about it.
That’s when BinStar was born.
